Gail A. Estelle

Gail A. Estelle passed away on January 29th, 2024, She was the daughter of the late Arcarde L. and Violet Florentine (Fortin) Plante.  She was born in Norwich, Connecticut on May 13, 1946, one of 12 children. Gail was the go to for the family for any family history.  She knew all the birthdays for all of the family. We already miss being able to call her to ask her family questions or to talk to her about our day.

Gail worked at Seat Bus for 36 years as a Bus Driver retiring in November 2022. She was a favorite with her co-workers and her passengers. How she managed to drive that huge bus we will never know. 

She will be greatly missed by her son Francis (Frank) L.  Estelle Jr. , her granddaughter Kyrstyn Gail Estelle, her brother Leon E. Plante and his wife Dawn , sister-in-law’s Pat and Sharon as well as many nieces and nephews.  Gail was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Russell C. Plante, Shirley G. Herrick, Lillian T. Kendall, Jessie V. Buffa, Arcarde L. Plante Jr. , Rita L. Chasse, Roy J. Plante, Frank J.  Plante,  Edward N. (Biddy) Plante, and Arcarde F. (Buster) Plante, and her ex-husband Francis L. Estelle. 

The family wishes to thank her nieces who spent a lot of time helping her over this past year taking her to appointments, working with her doctors visiting her and taking care of her, Kathie, Toni, Leona, Jackie, Tammy and Tina, as well as the staff at Bride Brook Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Niantic for their excellent care.

There will be a graveside service Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at 815 Boswell Ave. in Norwich, CT
