George Lloyd Jarvis

Norwich – George Lloyd Jarvis, 84, died Friday December 30, 2016 at the Norwichtown Rehabilitation and Care Center.

He was born June 10, 1932 in Griswold the son of George Francis and Stella (Zajac) Jarvis.

George worked for many years at Pratt and Whitney and later for Foxwoods Casino. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the VFW Post 2212, retired life member of the Taftville Volunteer Fire Department and member of the American Legion Post 104.

George’s family members include wife Faith (Coffey) Jarvis, two daughters Lori Baptiste and her husband Dennis, Kathleen Ashbee and her husband Brian, grandchildren Heidi Schneider- Avery and her husband Patrick, Robert Schneider and his fiancé Kirsten Heller, Casey Ashbee, Joshua Ashbee, a brother Richard Jarvis and a sisters Irene Gauvin, Lillian Fiderowitz and Helen Ducharme.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday January 6, 2017 at 11 AM at the Sacred Heart Church 156 Providence Street Taftville, CT. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Norwich.Donations in George’s memory can be made to the Priests and Nuns Retirement at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville.
